Kelly Lam

Hello, welcome to my portfolio! I am a budding data scientist based in San Jose, CA who is ready to help you make data-driven decisions.

About me

Hi, I'm Kelly.

I am an aspiring data scientist with a passion for data and extracting meaningful insights to create visualizations from complex problems.

I graduated Cum Laude from San Jose State University in Fall 2020 with a focus in Applied and Computational Mathematics and a minor in Economics. By studying computational math at SJSU, I was able to rediscover my interest in analytics.

Since graduating I have dedicated my time to learning and improving upon my technical skills in data visualizations and data modeling by reading books like "Making Sense of Data" by Glenn J. Myatt and "Storytelling with Data" by Cole Nussbaumer Knaflic, taking MOOCs on Udemy and Coursera, and applying my skills to personal projects.

I will be graduating from Georgia Institute of Technology in May 2024 with a Master's of Science in Analytics. I specialize in the Analytical Tools track which focuses on quantitative methodology in machine learning, forecasting, data mining, optimization, and simulation.

Aside from that, I enjoy speed solving Rubik's cube, baking the perfect chocolate chip cookies, and weight training in my spare time!

Coursework I've taken include:

  • Introduction to Analytics Modeling
  • Computing for Data Analysis
  • Data and Visual Analytics
  • Data Analytics in Business
  • Business Fundamentals for Analytics
  • Computational Data Analytics
  • Deterministic Optimization
  • Bayesian Statistics - Theory and Practice
  • Statistical Modeling and Regression Analysis
